The American Hour was launched on 12th September 1999 by The Directors of US2 Communications Ltd, Helen Elliott and Assunta Mondello.

Jointly, both have ten years' experience working with the American expatriate community along with extensive media and marketing experience within the international market place.

Helen Elliott is Director of "American in Britain" magazine and Director/Organiser of the annual "Relocation & Repatriation Conference & Exhibition". "American in Britain" was originally launched as "American in London" but was re-launched in 1995 as "American in Britain". The magazine is now a successful glossy magazine published quarterly and circulated to 20,000 American expatriates and related organisations in the UK. ""The Relocation & Repatriation Conference & Exhibition" was launched in January 1997.

Assunta Mondello worked for USA TODAY European Edition for five years, the last two as European Subscriptions Manager. Assunta was involved in the development of subscription sales through joint marketing programmes with US corporations and companies wishing to target the American expatriate community. Assunta also worked as Display Advertising Executive for USA TODAY, serving key blue chip accounts in Europe.

Helen and Assunta set up their business together in 1999.

Both Helen and Assunta also publish "The Products & Services Guide for Expatriates in the UK", an annual A5 guide for any nationality expatriate moving to, and living in the UK - the Guide is published in April.  Another publication is "Expatriate Adviser", a quarterly business to business magazine for international human resource professionals worldwide.

In addition, they organise two American networking events which are normally held at the US Embassy in London and provide an ideal networking opportunity for expatriates in the UK.  The event is sponsored by key expatriate service providers.
